WEEK 10: Assignment 3 Submission

My Statement: The words that describe my model best are "economical space living". as you can see in the images there is a suspended bed that hovers over a small kitchenette, next to that we see a small couch facing a television on the opposite wall. as you enter the room you're a faced with a full floor to ceiling glass window wall that has a stunning view of New York City. Personally, I have found that my imagination and productivity peaks when I'm in enclosed smaller spaces which are why I chose to go for a room that is part of a small studio apartment in densely populated New York City, the photographs are taken with lighting that represents different times if the day. WEEK 8 Fusion360 Materials

Material combination 1: Mahogany wood + Allaminum  For my first material combination, I wanted to go for something with a more vintage look, something that can be displayed on a desk in my workspace that looked professional and still stylish. the mahogany adds more of a sophisticated look while the allaminum adds a more modern accent. Material combination 2: Mirror + Air For my second combination, I wanted to create a more puzzling image. the main material is mirror while the edges are air making the whole model hollow and light. this is not a very practical design since it wouldn't stand in real life the way it does in the image but it could be used as an interesting digital logo. Material combination 3: Green Glass + Gold For my final combination, I wanted to go for something that looked more valuable. the gold accent sands out in any lighting while the green glass resembles an emerald while still being see-through giving the model a balanced look. the gold m...

The three planes 1) since I don't have a middle name I used the last letter of my first name instead     - the main and really only challenge I came across was forming the letter S for my last name     - as you can see what worked was drawing two circles and cutting out rough slices from each to     give it the shape of the letter Loft 2) My first attempt at lofting worked really well  Shell 3) Shell tool only worked between 1mm and 1.9mm. any more or less resulted in an error 1mm Shell 1mm Shell 1.9mm

WEEK 5 & 6 Fusion360 + Studio Activity

1) Fusion360 3D Model 2) 3D Model components laid out ready to be imported into Illustrator to prep for laser cutting 3) Components laid out within a 400x120mm rectangle with correct colour coding ready to be sent for laser cutting.  Studio Activity (Model Making) My workspace 1st attempt: Paper 10mins (Sketch paper) 1:100 - Paper is very thin and would not hold at a larger scale which is why I had to stick to a 1:100. - Very easy to warp and crease which made it difficult to make fine folds. - No tabs were used, noted for next time tabs would definitely help with the overall look and stability of the model. 2nd attempt: Cardboard 20mins (Cereal box) 1:50 - Folds and walls held much better than my first attempt which is why I upgraded to a scale of 1:50. - I found cardboard a little easier to cut and score with a blade. - No tabs used. 3rd attempt: Cardboard 30mins (Cereal box) 1:50  - I used th...
